Storytime

A re-occrouning program that leads participants through an outdoor/adventure/sport book. There will be short childrens books and chapter books. We'll have games, dances, and even crafts in between stories to keep it active! 

Weekly Details:

  • May 21 - Bear Snores On and Brother Wolf.  Materials needed: A piece of paper, writing / drawing utensils - anything to add some color! (if no crayons, markers, etc. are available don't be afraid to use stuff found in nature! Grass, flowers, and leaves can add a ton of color!), scissors.
  • May 27 - Following along with yoga poses and movements associated with the books: You are a Lion by Taeeun Yoo, Adventures with Barefoot Critters by Teagan White, and Goodnight Yoga by Mariam Gates.  Materials needed: Athletic shoes and a water bottle.
  • June 2 - Dr. Seuss Day! Reading The Tree Doctor, A Tale about Tails, and If I ran the zoo. Associated activities include making our own tail, a virtual pancake making experience, and drawing the most wild animal imaginable!  Materials needed: A piece of paper, writing / drawing utensils - anything to add some color! (if no crayons or markers are available don't be afraid to use stuff found in nature! Grass, flowers, and leaves can add a ton of color!), scissors.
  • June 9 - Lindsey Craig Sing-A-Long Day! We will sing along with Dancing Feet and Farmyard Beat as we get up and move!  Materials needed: Athletic shoes and a water bottle.
  • June 16 - NSCD Sports Story Time. We will read Learning to Ski by Mr. Magee, Elmer and the Whales by David Mckee. We will color our own checkered elephants like in Elmer and the Whales and will put on our imagination caps for a virtual ski run after reading Learning to Ski.  Materials needed: A piece of paper, writing / drawing utensils - anything to add some color! (if no crayons or markers are available don't be afraid to use stuff found in nature! Grass, flowers, and leaves can add a ton of color!), scissors. 
  • June 23 - Doreen Cronin Day! We will read Stretch, Bounce, and Wiggle as we stretch, bounce and wiggle our bodies!  Materials needed: Athletic shoes and a water bottle.
